This calculator provides advertising mode functions. Simply press [MODE] [AD] and common advertising functions are available. These are similar to the user friendly functions like the "%" key, but when writing the copy for adverts you may need to work out e.g. "how many out of 10 people who expressed
a preference" - simply enter the number of people expressing a preference followed by the number of people interviewed.
But wait, there's more. Free with the AdStatsCalc is the survey mode for topical scientific research. If you are marketing an antidote for something then simply enter all your survey answers and get immediate accurate answers.
For example, you present your survey to 1000 women - "How long do you spend eating per day ?". By typing in all the answers the AdStatsCalc can work out the average percentage of every 10 seconds in the day that women are preoccupied by food. With our new intellisense technology you don't even have to press the "=" button, but can go straight for the "copy paste" and with bluetooth this can insert the result straight into your feature e.g. "Every 10 seconds women think about food".
Amazing Equivalence Calculator
Amazing_20Equivalence_20Calculator Similar, but doesn't go far enough to misrepresent statistics to make this baked. [bigsleep, Oct 11 2009]
did you know is full of numbers plus a potentially humorous thing to view

So instead of '%' '30' '400' you type 'Mode' 'AD' '30' '400' - the difference being that the latter does some direct-to-DVD bluetooth 3D Organigram Powerpoint thing? |

I had hoped this was just about ad-sponsored calculators - ' Did you know that the answer to your calculation is the first five digits of the phone number of the best interior designer in town? Try it! ' |
|

[loonquawl] I like that idea: "This number was sponsored by PBS's Sesame Street!" |
|
| |
Going off-topic slightly, why do adverts say something like "eight out of ten" rather than "four out of five"? Is the number ten magic in some way? Does it have greater psychological appeal? Back on topic, yes, this could be done by a macro on a spreadsheet, couldn't it? |

The idea succinctly is that when you use [AD] mode, the calculator performs all the steps for the required advertising copy e.g. conveniently forgetting to ask how many actually liked the product. The calculator thus provides plausible deniability for advertising execs. |

The second example was supposed to be clearer but wasn't. You define the interval e.g. 2 seconds and the calculator tells you that women think of food on average for 0.022689 seconds every 2 seconds, but thats not important. The important thing is that every 2 seconds, women think about food. By going straight for the "copy copy paste" function you avoid seeing the actual figures. Again, plausible deniability. |

So in other words:
5 0 0 [AD] [=] |

apply this to the wildly potentially humorous

47 1/2 out of 49 halfbakers expressed a preference for this idea, and 'bakers thought about this idea every 10 seconds. If everyone had had this idea, 10% off global warming would be saved within 10 years! |
