This is baked already on Sky Sports (UK Satellite channels) which often offer "fanzone" where fans (sometimes celebrity fans) offer commentary during games as an alternative to the usual sports-journalists. |
|

Yes, dobt, but I am talking about a sustained vision, a
whole new meta-broadcast where the tone can be
completely irreverent. |
|
| |
So like "Fanzone" only more so? |

also baked with BBC Freeview. You can choose a radio commentary for a BBC television broadcast. [acerru] is taking this already baked service a step further. |

There's actually a seperate channel on most TV's that you could use. It's generally used for the Spanish dub of the program, etc. but we could use it for the "whimsical" commentary of a sports program instead. |

I'd also like to never hear Madden commentate again. Ever. |
|

Given the success of Dennis Miller on Monday Night Football, I'd say this idea has not a chance. |

Are you tuning in to watch the game or listen to people talk? Get your priorities straight. |

This is simple enough to do. Many sports are covered by more than one media outlet. Use one TV channel and another station's radio commentary, if you have to have someone talking over everything. |

[ub] Like down here when Roy and H.G offer commentary on the olympics, the grand finals (both AFL and NRL) and they did a lovely job on the grand final of the rugby world cup. |

T.V tuned into Channel 7, Radio locked onto JJJ |
