Imagine if you will a shoe with a small void in the sole. In this small void, the wearer pours antifreeze (or windscreen wash fluid, or a saline solution).
As the user walks, this fluid is gently squeezed out onto the pathways.
In icy conditions, this collective walking using antifreeze shoes
will keep our paths/pavements/sidewalks clear. And safe.

Fishbone for environmental ignorance, even considering use of saline. Excessive amounts of NaCl an CaCl2 applied by humans and carried by runoff water already has a negative effect on ecosystems and transportation infrastructure in regions of the world where it is abused. |
