The gallery patrons sidestepped thoughtfully through its many nicely decorated rooms, into the darkened Arty Arc exhibit.
After the many hushed, but audible, interpretations of the darkness died down, a soft yet commanding voice instructed to group to continue staring straight ahead.
A blinding
flash of light lit up the room! So blinding that only the cries of those taken by the surprise gave any indication.
Through the murmurs of helplessness, came a sudden exclamation: It's beautiful! On queue the rest of the gallery stopped clutching their eyes and blinked in amazement. The splotchy blob in their vision faded enough to reveal the outline of a large ship.
As room chuckled at the humorous word-play, one critic inquired into how such a spectacular arc was created, "I must see the technology to believe it!" But the artist was stumped, and confessed that it wasn't really possible.

Despite the last paragraph, this is feasible. Turn on any incandescent bulb, staring at the filament. Close your eyes, and you should see a pretty good impression of the filament. You can shape the filament any way you like. |

If you have an arc welding torch you could make an arc behind a stencil of your object and leave a lasting impression on people's retnas. Or you could quickly weld out the shape...or shape a MIG wire into what you desire and make sure it all arcs simultaneously... |

Maybe supplying SPF 60+ sunscreen to patrons could be an idea also? As any welder can tell you, an arc will give off a lot of both UV and Infared radiation. |
