I recently heard a story about a woman who has 3 kids aged 2, 1 and a couple of months old. She can't afford a three-seat stroller so her travel options are pretty limited. It seems like the cost of these strollers are high because the market for them is low. A modular stroller design should make
things more affordable. The base unit would be a single stroller. Additional units could be hooked on as needed, sort of like a train, with the body of each being locked together and the wheels being free to roll the way shopping cart wheels do. This way manufacturers wouldn't have to go out on a limb when forecasting how many double and tripled strollers to make. They'd just make the base and a reasonable amount of add-ons. The parents would also get the added benefit of not having to buy a smaller stroller when one of the kids gets too big. They could just unhook the modules as they become unnecessary.
I did a quick search of google and this website for similar ideas and didn't find any. If you come across one just send me a link and I'll delete this idea. [link]

I propose that Ozzy is the one to sing the advertisement, with lyrics amalgamating his "Crazy Train" and "Crazy Babies". |

There's not really a need to find yourself
with three children. These days, they
know what causes it. |

Here's the problem: Stumble up with one stroller? There's a baby falling down, you're pretty close to it and you might be able to save the baby so it's all good. |

Stumble into a ten stroller train, and the front 7 detach from you as you fall into the caboose? These babies are in for a wild ride. |

I freakin' love babies, dude. |

Do you push these or pull them? |
|

All of the twin and triple strollers I've seen are push models which is why there would have to be fixed connections between modules and free-rolling wheels. Otherwise it would probably be pretty hard to steer the thing. |

Hitch 'em together in such a way so that only the middle wheels touch ground while the others float, or are simply fold up out of the way. |

RayfordSteele has got a point. But your idea can easily have rotational freedom between the links (like an Australian road-train)... |

..just include a harness with a strap so that the parent can pull the train....like those chaps who pull locomotives. |

Uh, lawsuit in embryo. I see the end result
being permanent injury from the
perambulator version of crack-the-whip. |
