Balloonmas

A forgotten day from back in the era...

A day in which everyone in a land fills balloons with a lighter-than-air gas, ties the balloon tight, waits for the boundary of an hourly interval, and releases the balloon into the air along with anyone else in the vicinity also releasing their balloons on that hour.

The end result is that the sky would appear to billow with balloons for a while every hour, all across the land.

The reasons for doing so are lost in the fog of the time, and may even be apocryphal for all anyone knows.

Read this as balloon enemas, and was very afraid.

Humid air being less dense than dry air could fill a lighter-than-air balloon and also better represent the fog of time.

Not a good day to be flying.
