Sometimes a severe abrasion or laceration is worth bragging about. Why endure the pain without the pleasure of boasting of the injury you endured or seeing the squeamish looks on the faces of others.
Standard bandages should be designed so the gauze section of the bandage that covers the wound
opens up.
This can be done quite simply by cutting three sides of a square into the center of the bandage and guaze underpadding, leaving one for a hinge.
A peice of reusable sticky-tape can keep the flap from opening, aswell as allow access to the wound.
This opening can be used to show off your scab to your hearts delight, aswell as to make treatment of your injury with aide products much easier.

Won't be any fun when it's mostly healed. You need to take a picture of the wound (while fresh) and print it on the bandage. Then the wound can be left covered, and still be displayed in its most gory glory. |

This wouldn't protect the wound from infection very well, and it wouldn't protect it from further physical damage either (by scrapes, hits, etc.) since the flap opens up. I don't want to see anyone else's injuries. Scars give bragging rights, not open wounds. |

You're supposed to replace bandages every day(?) or so anyway, so making the wound easier to treat this way is a non-issue. |

First of all, Bert, I don't care if you don't want to see someones scab, I'll show it to you if I damn-well please. Also, they tell you to change the bandage daily so it stays clean. Changing the bandage also allows oxygen to get near the wound in higher quantities. I don't know how you can say treating the wound is a non-issue when applying antiseptic to any wound is strongly adivsed. Perhaps, bertyboy, if there was a window, it wouldn't have to be changed "everyday or so" as you say. If the window were designed properly it wouln't open any more than the adhesive on a regular bandage would. |

Forget the window, just make it out of some sort of clear, breathable plastic. Every boy I know would want it. |

Wouldn't a window promote the access of infection and reduce the warm moist environment that a healing wound needs? |

I'm not sure if that's what a healing wound needs, but it shouldn't if you keep it closed the majority of the time. |

if you put a little window in there, then just like a greenhouse ....which encourages growth.... your wound would not only be displayed but heal in a superfast time....maybe if this were invented then wounds....been so temporary.....would become fashionable, thus also creating the need for a wound maker....thats easy a small thin metal strip could be used to "raise" the underlying flesh
