Little kids have trouble getting the ball through the hoop. Not with this one.
The basket has a couple of cameras, a processor and some very fast hydraulics, allowing the basket to swoop out and net the ball if it comes anywhere within 3 feet of being a basket.
Happy kids and something really
cool for the spectators to watch, while watching kids' basketball matches. And, using the same technology...

5` diameter hoop and no hydraulics? |

Probably still too high, [d-s]. |

Hmm. 5' diameter hoop, metal coated basketball and immensely powerful electromagnet? |

Trying not to imagine that Eugene kid, hanging from hoop by his dental braces... fails. |

Very similar, [hippo], very similar. |

The real fun would come when a wise guy kid reverses the programming on the hoop so it always moved out of the way whenever his little brother tried to shoot the ball. |
