Often duct tape is used to make a double-sticky-sided square for hanging posters or whatnot. I have always seen people create on of these by making a small loop of duct tape with the sticky side facing out, flattening this loop and then folding it over once, edge to edge. There is a better way. Tear
off an approximate square of duct tape and then fold each of the four corners back, just enough so they all overlap a little bit and stick together. It works better not having one side that sags. It is a smaller square but more material efficient than the other method.

I like to think I do, but this has nothing to do with that. You should have seen me on the dance floor last weekend. Thanx, though, [reensure]. |

of course, when you make the loop in the original manner, you could position the join in the centre of the backing portion of your tacky square. |

I have to bun this for the sheer quantumness. |

Thankyou [jscottpete], you have just made my life that little bit easier. |

Wow! A practical HB idea that costs less than $500M to implement and might actually work. What the hell were you thinking, [jsp]? |

If you drop a lot of little things, like the holes in a hole punch machine, try this. Roll up a six inch strip of gaffer (=duct tape) into a long tube so that the sticky surface is on the outside, then slip it on to your index finger. Repeat nine times (after removing the first tube) and place one on each of your fingers. You will now have a full set of Gaffer FingLongers with which to collect the little things. |

thank goodness wag, I thought it was another one of those homemade self-relief items. |

I would not advise making one of those out of gaffer. |

[jscottpete], are you a secret origami expert? Sticky origami. Great idea! |

wagster, - while we're on the useful
household tip thing, here's an off-topic
one. |

If you're ever accidentally flooded, say,
from an overflowing basin or bath, grab
the nearest dustpan+brush. Forget the
brush, the dustpan is ideal for scooping
water into receptacle - probably far
quicker in the long run than running
around trying to find a more apparently
logical solution. |

Kind of like sticky origami ... [+] |
