Bollypops

As we age we, generally speaking, acquire a taste for more savoury rather than sweet tastes. The sweets of our childhood become less appealing and peppered beef jerky, chili pork rinds and the like become our snacks of choice.

However, the convenience of a lollipop on a stick retains currency. With this in mind we have developed a range of curried, chili, pepper and barbecue flavoured "Bollypops" (A nod to the Indian culture and its distinctive culinary flavours) for the major Western markets that will partake of these delicacies.

From mild and meaty to "rip-your-throat-out" chili, these are sure to please even the toughest critics.

It's pressed "sweets" on sticks. Frozen treats aren't lollipops, as far as I know. This is an entire range of savoury snacks, in slow-melting forms, on sticks.

Are these "bollypops" on wood, plastic, or recycled composite wood sticks? Enquiring minds need to know.

They're on the bleached rib bones of deceased Taliban fighters, or something like that. Why is it important?
UnaBubba, May 16 2006

We used to be able to buy "Warheads", which were Grape & Chili or Extremekly Sour Lemon. I think the lemon ones were just food acid and lemon essence (man, they were impossible to hold in your mouth with a straight face).

I've tried Indonesian ginger bon-bons... too sweet. Chinese Salty Plums... too salty, but getting closer. S African Biltong... right flavour, but it still has the meat texture.

What I mean is like beef stock without the salt and held together with just a trace of sugar or starch.

Candy is far too sweet for what I have in mind. More like essence of beef jerky, smoke and a carrier or Powdered chicken meat, coconut cream solids and tandoori spices.

Proper crystallised ginger, while sweet, can be extremely hot too. It's an interesting idea, but perhaps my tastes have not yet aged enough for me to appreciate a vindaloosicle just yet.

Please make at least some of them vegetarian.
Galbinus_Caeli, May 16 2006

If they're vegetarian and on the bleached rib bones of deceased Taliban fighters, are they still vegetarian?
NotTheSharpestSpoon, May 16 2006
