Usually a bathroom vent is placed on a
wall near the ceiling, allowing odor
originating from the toilet bowl to travel
all over the room before being sucked out.
This alternative location puts the vent
within the bowl, preventing odors from
escaping the bowl during pooping, thus
dramatically
reducing the amount of odor
one must endure.
If the fan has enough power to
accidentally suck in bowl water like a
straw, the tunnel can have another mouth
away from the water bowl to prevent air
pressure from decreasing to that point.
The vent fan will also be placed above the
bowl's maximum water level.
