When looking at the pictures of the Superdome and Astrodome being used for shelters it occurred to me that a lot of space was being wasted simply because cots only had one level. Stacking them2-3 high would create a stability problem if you did it bunk bed style, but if they were designed as fold-outs
in an A-frame shape (2 cots on the lower level for each 1 above it) stability wouldn't be an issue and we could fit a lot more people into the limited amount of space that's available. I'm not sure how high we could go but if the fold-outs could be attached (somewhat like a cheerleader pyramid), we could squeeze in quite a few more without losing any open floor space. Portable bunk.

The solution: Suction pads and beds on the ceiling. |

hidden - It might be kind of hard to climb up to one of those beds hanging from the roof of the Superdome. (You'd get a great view though if you were near the part where the roof blew off.) |

Once again, the power of cannons could come to the rescue. |

I saw a great episode of "Dirty Jobs" on the Discovery Channel talking about golf ball recovery. |
|
| |
They had a sorter called the Dr. Suess. (It really looked like a Suessian contraption albiet homemade.) |
|
| |
Each golf ball was thrown into its appropriate hole based apon its label. |
|
| |
I wonder if such a contraption could be made for the Astrodome? ..... Boudreaux Odem - You're k5 on the matrix. Step in, Get ready, & Good Bye! |

2 fries - Checked out the link. Similar concept, poorer design. In a crowded shelter people would keep bumping into them and tipping them over. |
