Black, rectangular umbrella that you attach to the roof of your car with a suction-device or clamp. Obligatory spike in the middle to look more umbrella-like and ground lightning bolts onto passers-by.
Inch thick wooden articulated spines with enough give in the joints such that snow slides off and
wind just pushes it closer to the car (maybe some rubber on the bottom so it doesn't ding a panel).
Like a spider wearing a poncho.
Protects against rain, snow, bird-droppings and GoogleEarth. Kinda beat you to it
Car_20Umbrella Close enough fo a [marked-for-deletion] redundant, methinks. [DrCurry, May 04 2008]
You need one of these, by the sound of it
http://www.shelters...m/products.php?id=1 (No suction cups, but they'll keep more snow off.) [DrCurry, May 07 2008]

Indeed, the sublime to the ridiculous. An antelope eating a canteloupe etc. |
|
| |
are you making fun of my antelope ? |
|
| |
Only the one eating the cantelope. The rest of them are OK. |

[DrCurry] mine looks like a normal radial-spoked business umbrella (albeit car sized/shaped) and is all-weather... and has spiky things for people who come to close... and it's prettier... and has a lower carbon footprint... ;) however I've changed the post so there's no competition (and being black to melt snow, it wouldn't be much of a sunscreen anyways). |

Does it come in a mil-spec version? My deuce-and-a-half truck would look damned silly wearing a civilian 'brella. |
|
| |
if you painted it pink, the umbrella wouldn't look so silly. |

FT: it's not me you have to convince. Which is probably a good thing. |
|

[DrCurry] I meant [Alterother]'s deuce. |
|
| |
FT: ...whereas I was referring to your earlier comment. |

[DC] I will happily trade you my half an hour outside in a snowstorm scraping ice off the windshield for your rolling down the windows for a couple minutes to let the car air out while you lounge around in the sun with a pina colada. |

Sounds like a reality TV show. |
