One of the things I regularly neglect to do is get my car washed. Now, as [normzone] notes in his excellent idea, following a car equipped with bubble indicators means you get enough soap on your car to be able to wash it very easily.
A week's bubbles means you just have to wipe your car down with
a wet rag and you're done.
Now, you look forward to driving your car in the rain. It actually washes the grime and soap off, instead of turning the grime to mud.
What the really committed driver now does is reroute the windscreen washers, to spray onto the front of his car, and slough the garbage off the car and into his slipstream.
I have a dream: That you will merely have to flash your lights at the car in front of you and a spray of water sluices the soap and dirt off your car, as you drive behind them. Of course, if they don't have CTW fitted then they're likely to pull out a handgun and start shooting.
The allegedly excellent idea

In these parts, when somebody behind you flashes their lights it means "Move over, I am trying to drive faster than you are". Not necessarily a shooting offense. |
|
| |
Now we need to develop an elaborate light flashing code: |
|
| |
"OK, two flashes, three flashes, one flash" - and the driver in front hits the preprogrammed sequence for wash/rinse/wax. |
|
| |
You know, if this were to become common practice, it might help to minimize tailgating. |
|
| |
"I just got it waxed yesterday, no way am I following him". |

In case of police pursuit, you can give them a carwash, just to piss them off. |

Ok.. so I spend my hard earned money to buy chemicals and supplies for my car so that it can wash someone else's. Good idea. |

I wonder why automatic carwashes are performed at the slow and painful rate of about a mile an hour. It seems like if you had a tunnel with high-powered water jets, followed by a few walls of soft cloth strips you could get most of it done at freeway speeds. |

Good idea, [Worldgineer]. As much commuting as I do, a carwash lane would be great. |
