Cascading Contacts List
When I see you online on my IM contacts list, why can't I see your contacts (that are online) too? | |
I propose that this would entirely change the nature of IM. If not only could I see you online on the contacts list, but see who of your contacts were also online, and perhaps also if a conversation is being engaged in right now. I don't think it'd be required to know what you're saying, but the simple
act of knowing who your friends friends are will, I suspect, fundamentally alter the way we use IM.

you could probably implement this in jabber via publish-subscribe - currently you can, for example, publish your mood or the music playing right. |
