My "little darlin's" go through 7kg of bentonite clay (clumping litter) per month. This is not much and it is reasonably priced, but there are two disadvantages: first I have to lug 7kg of what is essentially gravel from the store every month and second I have to dispose of 10kg of cat crap/urine soaked
gravel every month.
It *is* the component that lines waste dump sites because of its anhydric properties, but I doubt that the garbagemen put it off to one side then use it for that purpose (hmm...).
Anyways, getting around to the actual idea: a service that delivers x amount of fresh cat litter to your door and disposes of the old stuff in whatever manner is most environmentally sound. I personally think that returning the stuff to the original strip mines would be good if only for the amount of confusion it will cause future archeologists.
Don't watch this!

do you think we could fool them with a rough surfaced empty litter tray with an outlet to the sewer system and a method of flushing? |
|
| |
There are seats that you can use to train your cat to crap in the toilet, you know. |
|
| |
[UnaBubba] and they don't need "special" seats [Linky] |
|
| |
He didn't flush the bloody thing! |
|
| |
Just you wait a mo... I'm still searching (I've got a link somewhere... hang on, that makes me sound like someone who collects links of cats deficating in toilets) |
|
| |
Well. I didn't watch the video with the cat that uses toilet paper... So I am not suitably impressed |
|
| |
Good job you didn't look then... that would have have put you right off your cornflakes |
|
| |
Do they do ferret litter??? I've got a huge bun for ya if they do! |
|
| |
<inspects bun carefully...> |
|
| |
ferrets do litter training ? nifty |
|
| |
Checking for a fishbone wrapped inside, are ya? Actually, ferrets
can be litter trained, it just takes a lot more time, a lot more
patience, and being very proactive on the owner's part. Mine are
still struggling, and we've made very little progress so far, but I
remain hopeful. |
|
| |
By the way, I already voted for this yesterday, so you're
inspecting the wrong bun ;D |
|
| |
I think one of the cats in the video may have been inspecting for fishbones, too |
|
| |
Ok so fastfoward the Don't watch this! link... nice.
Fastfoward 3 links and WHAT? i get vid of a monkey wanking??
!!! |
|
| |
While as claire goes outside after knocking twice on
the back door, and the ferrets I ferret sat were both
litter trained, I still think a "baby diaper" like service
would be cool. So here's a bun and a smile :-) |

Why would anyone want to dispose of a litter of kittens ? |

// Why would anyone want to dispose of a litter of kittens ? // |

Maybe they're past their "best before" date ? Mind you, you could always curry them .... |
|
| |
Would be better is they scooped the litter and cleaned cages and
kennels. More diversity in the services offered would keep
business going better. |
|
| |
you just want somebody to litter-train your ferrets. |
|
| |
//if they scooped the litter...// but that would be a daily (thus quite expensive) service. |
|
| |
This idea is for not only relieving people of what isn't shopping so much as simply moving x pounds of gravel from one place to another, but disposing of same in an environmentally 'green' manner (yet to be determined). |
|
| |
Deliveries are made in 5 or 10 kg airtight buckets, and the old buckets are removed, cleaned and refilled. |
|
| |
Targetted at urban and suburban areas with a high areal density of cat owners, the individual pricing for such a service could be very little more than the cost of a box of cat litter at the store, due to economies of scale. |
