Cell phone vibrator - seismographic mode

Not quite caller ID, nor does it cause earthquakes

Cell phone vibrator which encodes distance to caller in the same fashion that a seismograph indicates distance to an earthquake. Call urgency is represented as magnitude of the vibrations.

Can give you some idea of who is calling, and whether to accept, without peeking at the caller ID.
