Half a croissant, on a plate, with a sign in front of it saying '50c'

This would work fine, except in terms of success.

Everybody, of course has electric (hot/cold) thermal underwear, cellphones, ipods, personal defense jackets, tasers , laser-brollies, etc. etc. etc.

All these things need power; as we've learned, the integral "power parka" is the preferred method (simply plug the devices in to the coat to recharge) but most of us forget to recharge the coat.

The solution is the "coatrack powerstrip": when you hang your coat, the hook trips a microswitch which flashes a light for 5 seconds to inform/remind you that the coatrack has a built-in battery charger that you can plug in to.

Could it not charge automagically, by means of some inductive coupling?
