A community of people that postulate vicious put downs that show up on your computer screen when you do something stupid within a program, website or operating system. For example, rather than pop up that says..."You forgot to input your address" you would get a new puts down every time such as " Guess
the amyloid plaques will soon prevent you from any sort of high level functions...You forgot to input your address".
Baked.

Are you sure you mean "postulate", [leinypoo13]?

If the computer knew when you were doing something stupid, maybe it could offer helpful advice to pre-empt the stupidness? If it has got to be a put down, the advice could be delivered in a scornful or belittling way. Coming from Clippy or his ilk it would not be so bad. |

(software which replaces BSOD with putdowns results in BSOD, for which there is a software replacement... recurse. curse. recurse.) |
|
| |
Oh, I meant, community-generated put downs in alert pop up boxes...I edited to clarify. |
|
| |
Does the community get to see your full-glory stupidity and customize the response, or is this a stored repository of categorized zingers? |
|
| |
[ytk] A little obvious annotation...don't you think. |
|
| |
[lurch] I was thinking downloadable zingers, but a community roast while desktop sharing might be good too. |
|
| |
Well I dunno.... dumbface! |
|
| |
But modern browsers block popups. I certainly
havent seen one for years, using mainly Chrome and
Safari and rare use of Firefox. |

Semi-baked, as isn't that main HalfBakery function? |
|
| |
Some kind of pop-ups exist in most operating systems, like "Low Disk Space" and "Stop looking at that, or you'll go blind", msg or write in Unix, or whatever they have in Windows these days. |
|
| |
Baked - the Microsoft Office "Paperclip", if you
imaging everything it says in a really sarcastic tone
of voice - e.g. "Are you trying to write a LETTER??!" |

I already said that, you kumquat. |
|

Seems I have been using "postulate" as a synonym for "propose" my whole life. Now, I realize that there are likely many people who may have silently mocked me, and possible even formed a conspiracy to keep me in the dark about this. I am keeping a list and will meter out justice soon. |

I sit corrected. <realises he doesn't even know what kind of a fruit a kumquat is> |

[leinypoo13] S'allright, we deeply admire you for speaking
English (albeit incorrectly) at birth. |

Thanks, my American accent must be caused by my straight teeth. |
|
| |
//teeth// Nothing but trouble, those. I advise you to have
them out at an early age and get yourself a nice set of
artificial choppers. Complete the ensemble with a set of
National Health spectacles, and your days of social ostracism
will be over. |
