Suitably kneaded flour is pressed out in a thin stream into hot cooking oil through a moving nozzle spelling out letters. Dispensers mix flavours and colours into the dough just before it exits.

The author will have two more choices to make: the colour of the words, and the taste. I think a suspense scene should be red, with a hot taste. A love scene will be spelt out in sweet sky blue, which changes to an icy electric blue, very salty, as the hero retires to nurse his rejection.

The entire story will have to be labelled with its calorie content. Separate editions will be issued for the sugar-free readers. Some will even carry a Does-not-contain-Peanuts label (Hi, Bristolz).

Since the entire story gets consumed as it is read (read assimilated) the market for stories will go up. There will be expiry dates on stories, and the second-hand story market will go down the drain.

The more successful authors will be those who can successfully manipulate words, colour and taste to give the reader the satisfaction of a "great story, well cooked".
