There are a few situations where it can be useful to be logged into a website using two usernames at the same time. For example, suppose you never want to be logged out but wish to occasionally switch accounts? For whatever reason, a simple solution is to use multiple browser profiles. However, I propose
a different solution:
If you hit a special key or type in a specially formatted web address (or use a "magic wand" type tool to fill in a password), you create a virtual new browser session. It behaves exactly the same, but treats itself as having no cookies. New cookies are added just to that session. So, one could, for example, have two tabs running in different sessions which were both using the same website but with different cookies and thus as different users. One could also set websites to, when accessed without cookies, to prompt the user to pick which cookies should be used. It's great that auto-complete tools can support entering in passwords from more than one account, but what if I prefer not to log in and out at all?

Generally speaking, this is as easy as opening another browser instance. |

Isnt this one of the features of the Google browser? |

at risk of sounding silly, what are the advantages of having >1 logins activated at the same time on a site ? I mean I can sorta see it for admin testing something out, but beyond that... ? |
