Cookie Salad

Contains a variety of chopped cookies -- oreos, black-and-white pastries, etc. -- held loosely together by unsweetened whipped cream.

You can order it as dessert or as a substitute for the humdrum "soup or salad" choice at the beginning of your meal.

Take care when tossing cookies not to spatter any on your shoes.

       Fatly delicious !

NeoPiter, Feb 28 2005

Reminds me of Ambrosia Salad (see link) - basically marshmallow salad.

It's a family of desserts, really. I'd imagine that the cookie salad you'd order at a gourmet restaurant would have all sorts of fine pastries chopped into it, as opposed to the cookie salad you'd get at a diner.

This would go down espacially well with the kids I should think.+

I just sneezed 10 times when I clicked on this idea. I must be allergic to it.

I would love to try this out with those yummy girl scout cookies. Mmmm.

My mum used to make this "Meringue Bombe" - basically a 50/50 mix of meringue and whipped cream with rum soaked raisins and walnuts stirred through it. Freeze overnight and eat like ice-cream.

Hi! Guess what? I'm going to cheat by voting my own [+] but still I'll vote for yours as a [+]. I wish you could make it properly. Oh, and also I wish your idea was written on a piece of paper 'cos I'd eat all the paper. I wish you could send me a Cookie Salad and then give me 500000000000000 (five zillion) more.

I suppose nothing would go better with a cookie salad than cookie juice [link]. I wonder what would be for dessert. . .

//I wonder what would be for dessert. . .// A diabetic coma?

//I wonder what would be for dessert. . .// Ice cream, of course!

//I wonder what would be for dessert. . .// Ice cream cookie sandwiches!!!

DesertFox, Feb 28 2005

//I wonder what would be for dessert. . .// Well logically, wouldn't a Caesar Salad be the proper dessert to follow a cookie -based starter?

natewill, Feb 28 2005

Yum! I am going to try this sometime!

I think I had something like this once- well, trust the Lutherans of Midwestern America to come up with it. I recall potlucks with endless lines of 'salads' whose primary ingredients were sugar and whipped cream... ah,you betcha.

<homer> mmmmmm.... crumbled-up cookie things....</homer>

badideajeans, Jan 03 2007

Hang on, in what way is this not a recipie?

wagster, Jan 03 2007

Because it's an idea for a class of foods.
