There are a lot of people living in hot climates who can't afford central A/C but who can afford sheets. This idea is for a new line of insect repellant sheets that would help them get a better night's sleep. The sheets would be treated with the same odorless chemical (not DEET) as the the clothes in the Buzz Off clothing line (see link), keeping mosquitos and other irritating night biters away.

Not DEET, but the effect is the same [longshot9999, Mar 09 2005]

Repel, use on bedding. http://www.walkabou...graphics/371656.jpg
Not good for underarms. [skinflaps, Mar 09 2005]

It's okay with the EPA http://www.insectrepellentclothing.com/

Wouldn't these sheets take off all your hair?

AWOL - If they did then the shirts could be used by people with hairy backs to get a clean shave each day. Unlike the protracted use of things like DEET though, the chemical used in the Buzz Off clothing line has shown no adverse side effects.

Sorry [longshot] I always get Veet and Deet confused, which probably explains why I have hairy, but fly-free legs.

The sheets wouldn't take off your hair, but the after getting cancer from the exposure to all that deet, the chemo will.

Oh, and [+]. Mosquito netting probably makes some people claustrophobic at night.
