CDs and DVDs seem to be messy, space-wasting things. They come in a number of differing case formats, creating storage problems.
The new DVD Lego cases are stackable, with uniform sizes for 5&1/4in disks and little cleats on corners, edges and flat surfaces.
Using the cleats to lock them together,
they can be made into contemporary sculpture, furniture, or clipped neatly together to keep them in one place.
To get the disks in and out they feature a springloaded gate, similar to a magnetic lock on an entertainment centre door. It slides out like the tray in a CD/DVD player.
Labelling is achieved by applying a decal to the front of the little gate. [link]

Send me 500. I've got stacks of CDs and DVDs sitting around my office. |

This might be one of the most common-sense ideas I've read all month. Patent the sucker. |

This is another goodie. Rayford is right, you could make some money on this if you were so inclined. |

Probably. All I need is a plastics molding facility, $1,500,000 in seed capital, a distribution agreement, $2,000,000 for advertising and working capital, and someone who can convince the recording companies to ditch their cosy deals with existing jewel case manufacturers. |

Yay! Fantastic idea. I want at least 100! I want to build a nice big sculpture of my DVDs, possibly forming some kind of shelf to keep other stuff like remote controls on. |

If you make it possible to fold existing DVD or CD case labels so they can be reused in them, all the better! |
