Delipult
If you catch it then it's yours, free. | |
Filling your own pots with gloop at delicatessen counters is boring.
The Delipult is a device that will be installed at selected stores before the end of the year. Use of it is optional for customers.
A blindfolded member of the counterstaff loads a customer's selection from the display into
a miniature trebuchet and launches it across the counter. Those customers agile enough to catch their coleslaw/potato salad/whatever in their plastic tub without letting more than a few spots hit the floor, themselves or any other customers get the whole serving free of charge.
For fielding sliced meats, cheese, samosas etc, they get a lacrosse net.
Large crowds gather. Store sales and revenue go up, people take to wearing coleslaw on their heads. What is a trebuchet?

Croissant for the chaos this would surely cause. |
|

A trebuchet is a font, like the one you see at the halfbakery. Alternately, dictionary.com or Google will be of enormous help. |
|
| |
So a trebuchet font is one used for catapulting babies? Possibly for use by irritable vicars. |
|
| |
fishbone I'm afraid [foolserrand]. I can't even catch a ball so I'd have no chance with an olive. |
|
| |
Can I run the protective poncho concession? |
|
| |
Would that more of a restaurchet or cafeteripult, then? |
|
| |
[oneoffdave] You can sell nacho hats to innocent bystanders, how's that? |
|
| |
Who doesn't know what a trebuchet is? |
|
| |
I can't wait to see the bocconcini cannon! |

Next, an olive cannon is on the books. |
|
| |
Great, I'll start preparing my advertising material now. Will the olive cannon be rapid fire? |
|
| |
No, it will paint everything in a nice shade of olive though. |
|
| |
paint everything olive? Haven't we covered that? -see link |

A trebuchet is a large device which is a cross between a catapault and a huge spoon (used like you do for flinging food in food fights) |
