Picture a stack of tea candles interlinked so they can rotate on a central hub.

Now put the wicks of all these stacked candles off center to that hub.

To use it, you'd dial the time you wanted the candle to burn by lining up however many wicks you wanted. if each candle segment burned 30 minutes for instance, you'd dial 4 candle wicks in alignment with each other for the candle to burn for 2 hours.

Dial a candle. A solution in search of a problem? Maybe, but it would work.
