Diapower
"Keeps baby dry and ensures a cleaner future." | |
Disposable nappies (diapers for the US) are not environmentally responsible products, for the most part.
They leach a range of nasty chemicals into landfills, absorb and retain liquids for ages, and use up plastics at an alarming rate, considering their limited use. They last for ages, in the environment,
and do nothing more than convey raw sewage from children to the environment.
Diapower is a disposable (for someone who had two kids in 14 months, disposables are a godsend) with a difference. Made from natural, biodegradable fibres and filled with flocculated cellulose fibre, they are designed to be composted, complete with the intractable wastes they are designed to catch.
Diapower agencies deliver clean diapers to your home, daycare centre, hospital... and remove the used ones, taking them back to the Diapower Depot for fermenting and biomass power generation.
Diapower provides a net surplus of power to the national grid, while making all of that nasty, horrid babyshit go away.

Thanks, [jutta]. That alternative seems not to be available in this country. I always winced, when tossing another nappy full of shit into the rubbish bin. |

I envisaged the idea here to be the product and the unique service and end product use. |

How about flushable diapers? Then they can be processed the same way as all the other, um, shit. [Ah - they do exist - see link.] |
