Disc Grip

For holding a bunch of hair

This gadget is a disc. (Duh.) It's maybe 7cm in diameter, with a central hole 2 or 3cm in diameter. (Different hole sizes will be appropriate for different people.) Finally, there is a spiral cut in the disc, that leads from the outer edge to the central hole. This is not a fancy long spiral; it's merely supposed to be enough to do the job described next (it only goes half-way or 3/4 of the way around the disc, as it approaches the center).

The person wishing to use this grabs a bunch of hair and introduces it into the entranceway of the spiral. The disc is manually rotated to bring the hair along the cut to the central hole. More hair can be introduced as the disc is rotated until all the available long hair has been collected in the center of the disc. And the hair will mostly STAY collected together, due to the narrowness of the spiral cut at the central hole.

The purpose of this Idea is to facilitate the "Mushroom Cloud" idea (see link). Having "big hair" isn't enough, because you need a STALK to go with that cloud of hair. So use two of these grips, one near the skull and one a couple centimeters higher, along the bunched-up hair.

Finally, there is one other aspect to this Idea. As you can see from the "Mike" link, the stalk of this particular mushroom cloud passed through some thin layers of ordinary clouds, and those layers just happen to look disc-shaped. JUST like these disc-grips!

Don't most people use their hands for this, maybe followed by the application of a hair grip?

Vernon turning into sparki? who is complaining?

[po], I recall years and years ago seeing a similar image of the "Mike" explosion, the world's first nuclear-fusion blast, and thinking that in spite of the potential for future horror, it looked PRETTY. Especially with those disc-like cloud layers. So, the other day when I thought about a mad hair style, it bothered me because ordinary hair clips could create a bare stalk, but couldn't provide those discs, for the complete "look". THIS idea lets me feel the overall thing is completed.

[po], a pic of what? Nobody that I know of is wearing a mushroom-cloud hairdo. I was talking about the IDEA being completed....

In the past i have complained about lame spinoffs of lame ideas. refreshing to see an idea that actually helps another idea along! Big BUN!
