Roland stopped at his mailbox, trying to avoid Nancy's vacuous grin. Finally, he looked up to see her standing there expectantly, with her Red Setter smile plastered all over her face.

Looking closer, he realised there was a piece of lettuce stuck to her front teeth. He looked a little closer, discerning it to be a small patch of bookbinding tape.

Nancy realised his interest, spitting a green and white pellet into her hand. "It's tape, silly. It tastes quite yummy. Best of all, it cleans your teeth for you while you chew!", she said, triumphantly.

A feeble bulb in the back of Roland's conniving, little mind lit up.

.o0(I could sell the stuff, and make a squillion) he thought.

Roland kissed a very startled Nancy on both cheeks, excused himself and headed off for the adhesives bar at his local Wal-Mart. I'll need a catchy name, ("GumStick", maybe) he mused, and I might be able to get Homeland Security to help with the marketing...

NOT an echo, by the way, the name is just incidental. I like the taste of 3M MagicTape. It smells and tastes like mangoes, to me.

Me. I'm not sure what the compound is, though I'll bet it's not good for you, but it smells sooooo good!

Was quite startled to find UnaBubba signing his name to what started off like a FJ idea.

       Heh!

Was it Linus who said he fell for any girl who smelled like book paste? There must be something in the binding process...

[k_sra] // binding process... // marriage is binding...(unless you ask Britney)... maybe GumStick would help people stick together...

I once had this game with an old boyfriend where we would see how long we could make out and chew gum at the same time without losing our rythm and/or gum. It was hours of entertainment and fun!!

[UnaBubba] Re. mangoes - you're supposed to eat the yellowy bit on the inside.

Really? Damn, I wondered why the fruit from the seven trees in our back yard, when I was a kid, tasted so bad.
UnaBubba, Jan 16 2004

Well, after careful examination of the evidence (two sort of 3M Magic Tape, bookbinding tape and various other similar products to hand), I suppose Magic Tape does smell nicer than the others. But chewing it ? This librarian respectfully declines.

So how's this work? The stickyness of the tape cleans the teeth? Please 'splain it a little bit for my feeble little brain. //Best of all, it cleans your teeth for you while you chew// is all I got to go on so far.

       mmmm...lead compound

Depends upon what you call duck tape.
UnaBubba, Jan 17 2004

finding yet another use for duct tape always deserves a +
buddymatt, Jan 17 2004

       Just don't swallow the stuff.
UnaBubba, Jan 17 2004

You might use it to extract one from your arse.
UnaBubba, Jan 18 2004

That's funny, UnaBubba, I chew on tape too.

It's good for cleaning between teeth.
