After finding the category under which I put this idea, I had a moment of thinking this is surely baked. Perhaps it is, but not in this category. One of my first ideas, a couple years ago, was addressing this same issue but I didn't put it in this category. Ha! Though someone did mention a "camel-back."
The title might make some think of alcoholic beverages. Well for that matter, lots of things make different people think of alcoholic beverages: the end of the work day; sports; waking up.
Anyway, I digress. It got me thinking about being 18 and having a party at my parent’s house when they were out of town. I had one of those Budweiser party balls (don't think they make 'em any more.) and put it right next to my bed. Oh, those days of debauchery and complete disrespect for those who love me the most.
Looks like [po]s idea in this category lost its votes in the crash. Since I think it is worthy of buns I thought to mention it.
As for the urination I can't think of any idea there. Catheters already done and i wouldn't take that route, anyway. Opting to design my future house with a 1/2 bath really close to the bed isn't an idea. |

I used to use a collection of bicycle/sport water bottles. In hot weather I'd have some frozen, some insulated, some cold from the fridge. I think I just got tired of dealing with cleaning them, so I quit. (Either that or I stopped doing sports in bed.) I think a camelback would be even more bother to clean--the guy here who wears one never cleans it. |

As for the fluid output problem, I find that half-gallon plastic milk jugs work fairly well. I'd like to find something better, but it isn't something that I can go around asking people about. A drain in the bedside table sounds like a winner, though. |

Well, I wouldn't be peeing in the drain! Yeah, I use Sobe bottles. They are a valuble commodity for me and I buy them primarly for the bottle. Though, the health suppliment infused sugar water is a nice treat. My big glass apple cider jug I use at home doesn't get cleaned enough. The glass gets pretty cloudy before I clean the inside with a butter knife and a green-scrubby. |
