I have to admit that I'm not a big veggie fan: while I can and do eat them; enjoy them even, there's no comparison to even the meanest serving of meat as far as my tastebuds are concerned. Unless I'm in full cooking-mode they often get passed over, and despite my feeling that I *should* be eating more, I often don't and mollify my inner-health-nut by scarfing down the occasional vitamin or two.

But look at the labels on all the vitamin bottles, stating "all-purpose" "super multi", etc: marketing crap which mean nothing to me. They even list the contents in "mg of vitamin Xn" which means even less. Frankly that's not too informative unless you're a health specialist.

My proposal is to simply produce and market vitamins where each pill contains the vitamins and minerals found in a "serving of x" where "x" could be any veggie: green-beans, peas, carrots, etc.

A "Veggie Easy-Mapping MultiVitamin" bottle would contain an assortment of pills, capsules and whatever they call those squishy things with liquid inside. All would be coloured or shaped similarly to the vegetable or vegetable group they represent.

Pop a couple peas and carrot shaped and coloured pills to get the nutritional value that a serving of the real thing would provide. Hate cauliflower ? no problem, the little white pill goes down easily.

Yes. That would be a good idea. For that reason I shall give you a french breakfast.

//and other fodder for flatulence.// Is it a card carrying thing that vegetarians must eat something that causes flatulence ? Please don't.

I'd prefer a device that told me how many to take. I often forget to eat, and when I do any RDA counts are overlooked. So maybe a gizmo that flashes "2 green ones and 1 orange must be taken to make up yesterday's RDA" as an accompaniment with coffee in the morning.

I will give you a bun... despite thoroughly disagreeing with that statement.

I actually did the veggie thing last summer for a month or so; I found I couldn't sleep unless I had some carbs or something before going to bed: odd.

I suppose there's room for "fruit pills" though I enjoy the morning fructose jolt too much to pass the real thing up.

Looking at the Food Guide seems to me Canadians don't eat much, the "servings" I have in mind are about twice the size, but I'm sure reality might kick in somewhere if you actually want to get all the vitamins/minerals/etc's into a pill.

//Expensive urine, basically.// huh ? What I'm aiming for is (basically) a serving of x-type vegetables minus the roughage in single-pill form. Swallow the round green pill and get all the vitamins found in a serving of peas; the capsule with the carrot imprinted on it gives the nutritional value of a serving of carrots, etc. etc.

I have a rant right here but i won't post it. I'm sorry, [FT], that was probably a bit of a knee-jerk reaction and judging by the date, i was in the depths of exploring the underside of despair at the time, so sorry about that.

rant away; I was just churning for pastries anyways.

Nice tactic, [FT]. Got anymore extra crossaints yet?

2 and counting; helps that I changed the wording a bit to make the idea more legible. Since this is one that I think is doable I have no more issues churning it than I would with somebody else's. Besides I really do want [19thly]s take on it.
