Edible Muffin Cups

Sometimes after enjoying a muffin or cupcake I'm left with the paper muffin cup that was used to bake it. Often, I confess, I pop this tasty remnant into my mouth and eat it, as it is infused with delicious muffin flavours and leftover doughy morsels.

What I desire though, is an Edible Muffin Cup that I will not be alone in eating. We live in a society where this fluted paper delicacy is discarded as a social mores, despite the fact that it is nontoxic, a source of dietary fiber and delicious.

Edible Muffin Cups would be advertised as such, and composed of edible fibre, known as bran, as opposed to wood pulp. It's bonding agents would also be decidedly edible, consisting of starchy glues.

The modifications will make it possible to proudly consume ones muffin cup without shame or fear of reprisals. Even by going so far as to forgo peeling the cup from the pastry, and eating it whole.

       Rice paper is already used in foods, the closest example to this being used on the bottom of some coconut macaroons. Although I like the thought of it being used as the muffin cups.
Couldn't say how it would fare duing the cooking part though.

       If you are fine with handling (and no doubt having others handle) the part of the muffin that you intend to eat, then why not just make muffins in muffin trays? No cup at all, 100% edible and free of glued bran.

       Bake muffins out of 100% glued bran, I say. It causes an interesting intestinal paradox that will keep us occupied for ages.

       I can't believe you "outted" yourself, in regards to eating paper muffin cups. My cats eat weird things that somehow, after being disassembled, become reassembled somewhere in their digestive tract. (Not to suggest that you poop muffin cups, but if you did how handy would *that* be?)

       There are 'cups' made of phyllo dough to bake things in and they come pre-baked...not made of 'muffin' but still edible.
