Elbow Grease

It's what your mother told you to use...and more!

One part petroleum jelly
One part vinegar
One part baking soda=

Elbow Grease.

The three ingredients your mother, and everyone else have always found, that will clean virtually every thing on the planet. Plus your own biceps, in motion, of coarse.

Not a recipe, per se. This is one part old woman's tale, one part Farmer's Almanac, and one part Dear Abbey. In a tub. To clean with.

And if you don't think some infomercial hudnut isn't gonna scoop this up, well...you must be crazy, I'd say.

And it's useful for a quick snack!

       No, petroleum jelly. It's awful.

Well, no. I hate to say this but (1) the idea of treating elbow grease as a literal substance is a well-baked joke and (2) your recipe is basically going to make fizzy grease.

:-( fizzy grease that you can clean with?
blissmiss, Dec 08 2009

To make it edible, you can use Kentucky jelly.

The inventor of petroleum jelly, Robert Chesebrough, reportedly ate a spoonful of Vaseline every day.

//:-( fizzy grease that you can clean with?//

Sadly, no. Well, you would be able to use it to remove any stains caused by things which are soluble in fizzy grease.

However, you could always work on developing a new type of dirt which was soluble only in fizzy grease.

You could also work on developing a new type of cleaner to remove the fizzy grease afterwards.

It can't be real elbow grease if it doesn't involve boiling up old elbows

       good one, poc.

I remember a short story about somebody telling a kid to use elbow grease to wash the car but there was only axle grease...I wonder if this would get that off?

You can remove it with a bucket of prop wash.
