This ice tray will plug into a wall outlet, but the cord is detachable (or see link). Fill the detached tray with water and freeze as normal. Later, remove tray, plug it into the wall for a short time, and the tray will warm enough for the ice to fall out freely. Reuse.

Could eliminate the cord http://g04.s.alicdn...ock.jpg_220x220.jpg
If such a folding plug was built into the tray. [Vernon, Jan 14 2016]

Annotation:

Pshaw. Your electrical connector will get condensation on it. (Not my [-] btw.)

Optional added invention: small towel, similar to golf swag, for drying connector or built-in plug before using.

A small absorbent buffer ring of some sort could insulate the unit from the outlet, to avoid accidental electrocution due to condensation. Remove prior to using the unit as a possible murder weapon.
