3:20am: Officer Randy Clutterbuck turned onto Maple Street and flicked a glance up at the KFC billboard. With sinking heart he watched the two figures with the blowtorch attempting to cut open the safe inside the bank where his pal, Walt, was the manager.
After calling for backup he sat, looking
at the billboard, knowing the footage was being captured in 3D.
Since the introduction of this system, with its hundreds of tiny, cheap cameras at each location and hookup to nearby digital billboards, it had been relatively simple to observe crimes in progress; provided they were being committed within the confines of private property. Redundancy meant it was almost impossible to destroy all of the cameras to evade detection.
Hostage situations were more easily defused, as a 3D picture could be built up. Best of all, beat cops simply had to keep an eye on active billboards. Whenever the cameras detected motion where it shouldn't be they lit up the connected billboard, into a giant viewing screen.

Alternatively, force everybody to live in glass houses. |

(This is just an idea for lots of CCTV cameras everywhere connected to public screens, isn't it?) |

Connect them to cinema screens. |

No, [kropotkin]. It's an idea for a security system with lots of CCTV cameras inside individual premises, with a live feed to a digital screen outside the premises, usually used as a billboard. This allows police and emergency services to see what's going on inside the building, in the event of trouble. It would have the effect of simplifying the handling of siege and hostage situations, along with other crimes, at the scene. |

3:00 am: Janice, with her accomplice Roland, went back to the bank 6 hours after witnessing her dimwitted husband and Roland going hard at it. The vault held three million dollars. It was a worthy prize for the fifteen years of mental abuse to which she had subjected herself, living with her effeminate, fawning husband, Walt. |

Walt would never say a word, or she would out him. Her only fear was that meddling bastard, Clutterbuck. |
