Eye-Resting Web Browser

I browse many different websites every day. One of them has an unusual and accidental feature: It's black before it has completely loaded; then it takes on the usual white background. This is great because I can close my eyes for a few seconds, and still notice when it's loaded (the change in brightness is visible even though closed eyelids.) If all websites did this (perhaps through a browser plug-in), it would be much easier on the eyes because you wouldn't be staring at pages while they load.

       I wasn't thinking of ad blocking, but that's an interesting idea - the screen could go black for 5 seconds, 15 seconds, or 30 seconds, depending on how long the site's ads normally are, and you get a nice mini-meditation session.

       Ahh, do it properly...A pair of red velvet curtains that re-open once the new page has loaded,with a tinny midi rendition of a fanfare.   

       Can be fitted with seven veils for viewing the erm, more exciting images...my friend....yes, my friend sometimes looks at on the net.

       Alternately and oppositely an eye focussing web browser could direct your eye to some decidedly important position on the screen by creating some sort of motion or visual phenomena.

       I've noticed a number of sites have been adopting the "white on black" style for text presentation.   

       This can look pretty funky - but it makes my eyes hurt if I need to read any more than an opening paragraph.

       Really you want to be able to browse with your eyes closed. You are already halfway there, looking for changes in brightness - and that was our ancestral path that lef to the evolutoon of eyes! What you need is a brighter screen that can be read effectively through closed eyelids. It might be necessary to have a small screen directly apposed to the eyelid to make this work.
