You are making a snow person out of real snow. Wouldn't it be great if you could embed fiber optics in it to make it sparkly or give it a glowing coiffure?

Large koosh balls of optical fiber with a light at the center are embeddable at depth in the snow. The fiber is basically fishing line. You just shear it off at the surface of the snow person to produce sparkling effects.

A possible improvement would be to make the koosh balls out of something optically transparent yet innocuous like edible glass noodles or some extruded gaur gum. Another possibility is to have ---//---//---//--- leaf-like flat planes on the strings to produce large glowing flecks.

Photovoltaic optional.
