Floating Pedestrian Effect

Perhaps in an art gallery or science museum

The floor is made up of flat screen TVs covered with thick glass to suitably re-enforce them so people can walk on them. Cameras along the wall produce video images of people walking by, digitally change them to black silhouettes and project these on the screens beneath their feet to give the illusion that it's their shadow.

The effect is created when the shadow is moved away from the person by a foot or so giving the illusion that they're hovering several inches above ground as they walk.

There might be an easier way to do this without video which would be much more clever but I can't think of one yet.

Just have the pedestrians walk on a sheet of glass, held a foot above the pavement.

You could drag a cardboard shadow behind you as walk down the street. As long as no one steps on it...

I kind of like that. Throw a little showmanship in, like walking with your arms out like you're balancing or something and that could be a cute Youtube bit
