Of a morning, what people need on freezing cold train stations is a bit of livening up. Optionally, of course.
What would be fun would be to have a constant supply of top-echelon disco hits played to the awaiting populace on station platforms while the train doesn't arrive. The idea is to try and
cohese the passengerhood by encouraging formation disco dancing, or perhaps not, if you don't feel like it. I think it would definitely catch on.

I only dislike this idea because it is optional. |

It I am of the oppinion that all good ideas should be strictly enforced. |

I think you need to have a grid lighted train platform to really make this work. |

I was just about to agree, and then I thought, wait a minute - Isn't that how we got in this mess? |

Take the last train to Clarksville
I'll be waiting at the station
We'll have time for coffee flavored kisses
And a bit of conversation
Oh... Oh, no, no, no!
Oh, no, no, no! |

I got this idea the other morning when on my walkman came Alicia Bridges - I Love The Nightlife (extended version) and the snow was trying to fall and my legs were twitching - the beginnings of a sort of microdancing - and people were freezing (most of them inexplicably not wearing hats for some illogical reason) and I was just thinking 'why isn't everybody dancing?'. Then I remembered - only I can hear what's on my headphones. |

Everybody's doin' a brand new dance now..
Come on, baby, do the locomotion + |

This idea is Barking mad. I don't think it'll be Poplar at all. I mean, I'm not going to make a Wapping great Tube of myself on the platform... especially not on a cold commuting morning. |

While I'm all for music, this idea is different from Muzak in what way exactly? |
|
| |
This is an atttempt to encourage dancing... as opposed to mind-numbing sedation. |
|
| |
Muzak provides all kinds of music, not just the mind-numbing kind. |
|
| |
They do provide all sorts of music (and corporate branding and other stuff) but this particular idea is not 'lets make music for companies' as per Muzak: the idea is to try and cohese the passengerhood by encouraging formation disco dancing. |

(I can see some kind of 'what constitutes an idea' discussion coming, so I am bailing out now!)
