Frozen Gas Meccano

 A construction set for space kids

Like a Meccano set, but made out of frozen gas. Internal resonances keep the struts and nuts solid and apparently rigid, but in fact, the whole lot would disappear into a whiff of smoke if brought within the normal atmospheric boundaries of pressure and temperature. Can only be manipulated in space, and thus is suitable for families that live on space outposts. Needs a hostile- environ remote tractor unit to operate.

       How about a remote controlled robot to operate it from Earth? Instructions would have to be sent taking into account how long it took signals to get there and back of course, which would add to the fun.
