Help your children develop and enhance their motor skills. Climbing is innate to them and helps them perform better in other physical and mental activities. With you as the Jungle Jim, the kids can bond and build confidence while clambering up your calves and shoulders.

Gripped Gear, a zip-on suit in breathable neoprene with snap-on climbing grips, makes this possible. You choose the difficulty of the climb by your choice of the type, number and positions of the grips. Become a mound on all fours for toddlers, or stand as a small scale mountain scaled by up to four children. This product is perfect for day care centers, stay-at-home moms or divorced dads on a Sunday at the beach.

By snapping the pulley option onto the peaked hood, you can thread through belaying ropes to secure two kiddy climbers at once. There’s also the snap-on saddle horn and stirrups for grown-up giddyupping, and special grips to make piggybacking and shoulder-sitting a cinch – great when shopping or at a vernissage.

Gripped Gear with a surface full of cracks and folds, comes in two colors, sandstone beige and granite gray, and in four sizes, Ben Nevis, Kilimanjaro, McKinley and Everest.

I'm so glad you can top-rope rather than having to insert protection as you go.

[phoenix] I'm thinking punctured with millions of tiny holes like a thick Gore-Tex®.

Oh dear! My neck hurts just thinking about it. Where's my picture? I demand a picture!

can we get velcro flags to plant on your skull?

How about a snuff-like substance you could use to induce avalanches? On second thought there are toddlers involved so lubricating spittle and snot would not be in short supply. Great idea.

That's what I call a real mountain man.
