Good vs Evil Formula

Represent your day as an energy source in series with resistance

Using the principle behind Thévenin's theorem:

Add up all good, miraculous, pleasant and generative influences going on at the moment, all around, and substitute it with a single value representing a positive force that wants to make excellent things happen.

Add up, similarly, all the bad, evil and officious hindrances all around and substitute it with a single value representing resistance, slowing things down to a halt.

...and then do what with it?

Put it on the Halfbakery, apparently. Well, at least I got exposed to the theorem.

Apparently, Thévenin died in 1926 of an acute accent.

That sounds grave, [MB], pas trop grave.

Represent the three-dimensional spiritual integral as a single variable...

       Can Mathematica do that, yet?
Cuit_au_Four, Mar 31 2017

OK so you get 1 value on a single axis of good and evil or do you get 2 variables one on a axis of good and one on a axis of evil. the former makes more sense the the description would indicate the latter.

Dr. Pangloss would appreciate this! most things most of the time are going well. However there is a funny thing, it is kind of like opportunity cost: all the good things that could be happening at a particular moment that are not.

republicans vs democrats formula corollary ?

Wouldn't fractious evil be on the other side of the point?
wjt, Apr 02 2017

If resistance is evil, [Ian Tindale], how do the brakes on your car work? Or does your driving style incorporate the assumption that slower-moving road users are inadequate, out of touch and probably bourgeois?
pertinax, Apr 02 2017

I don't have a car. I never had, and never will. I don't drive, and have no idea how to.
Ian Tindale, Apr 02 2017

Resistance itself isn't evil, of course. Resistance against good is probably evil. In the same way, for example, a forward but not positive force against restraint would also not be good. You have to sort out which is which.

[Ian] soon you won't even have to talk to the taxi driver.

From the title I thought this was going to be an idea about the relative merits of different brands of milk for small babies.

//You have to sort out which is which//

OK - but doesn't this mean that your formula is no longer, um, formulaic?
pertinax, Apr 07 2017

Just call it "heuristic" and charge the client twice as much.
