Halfbakery Bed-In
I'm feeling exceptionally warm

All this annotation interaction with you halfbakers seems so distant and cold. It's about time we make up for it with a bed-in. We could rent a large warehouse or gym and purchase or otherwise obtain a bunch of (clean) mattresses and matching fitted sheets. The mattresses wouldn't need to all be the same size. We would form grids of matching sized mattresses next to each other. Everyone could bring his or her own body pillow that could be transported around as one crawls and traverses the sea of cozy intellectual chatters. This would not be sexual, but if I find the right gal and she is interested we will openly cuddle. Perhaps a few good matches will come out of the occasion. Likely some great ideas will arise. And we can plan one for the following year.

Cuddle Party http://www.cuddleparty.com/
reminds me of this (somewhat strange) web site [krelnik, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 06 2004]

Short name, e.g., Bob's Coffee

Destination URL. E.g., http://www.coffee.com/

Description (displayed with the short name and URL.)

A large warehouse, multiple mattresses, mixed company , young virile teenagers, lights out, .................and no sex

mmmmm it would take a lot of convincing

tasman, Jul 21 2004

[tasman] Halfbakery creative energy could create the most unique swing/orgie to follow the Bed-In for whoever is interested. As for the Bed-In itself, let us respect those restrained by the irrational stigmas inflicted on beautiful sexual intercourse by society.

jscottpete, Jul 21 2004

I'm kidding really. I just want to take one lovely woman back to my hotel room...and then home.

jscottpete, Jul 21 2004

Thank you for moving my idea to the appropriate catagory. This is a bone free catagory pointing to the gregariousness of halfbakers. My idea isn't really that original, though.

jscottpete, Jul 21 2004

I'm going to stop hogging the annotation zone for my own idea, now. peace!

jscottpete, Jul 21 2004

there are a lot of warehouses in the chicago area, and as such, I propose that it be held in chicago.

then, i can just take that lovely woman straight home, no more expensive hotel rooms.

i'm feeling exceptionally warm and selfish. =P

nox, Jul 21 2004

Chicago is fairly centrally located for U.S. citizens. I'd only have about seven hours to drive.

jscottpete, Jul 22 2004

       [jscottpete] = The Lonely Guy?

Pal, 7 annotations and 5 of them yours? Get your hand off it! The keyboard, that is...

UnaBubba, Jul 22 2004

       *thinks impure thoughts* +

thumbwax, Jul 22 2004

No need for us to anno, then.

waugsqueke, Jul 22 2004

Chicago's fairly centrally located for you in the US, but to be democratic about it, we need some central location for us Europeans too. Hmm. Mid Atlantic's not too attractive... but perhaps in the Azores or somewhere?

david_scothern, Jul 22 2004

As this is a bed-in, shouldn't that be "a snores"?

angel, Jul 22 2004

       Furtive Ventura.

spacemoggy, Jul 25 2004

       Funny Gorilla

gnomethang, Jul 25 2004

I suggest it is held in a beautiful mexican beach. Or even better, I'll host the slumber party in my own home. I'm make the margaritas!

Pericles, Jul 25 2004

I'm with Pericles. Like, maybe, Rincon de Guayabitos (Nayarit) or similar beautiful oceanside village.

bristolz, Jul 25 2004

We should have a halfbakers expenses acount, probably payed for by the UN, or possibly national governments. Contributions from NGOs or the private sector could also be incorporated.

Then I could afford to visit some of these proposed locations.

It only makes sense in light of the valuable work we do for the world.

RobertKidney, Jul 25 2004

hey RK, I quite agree. I'd like halfbakery miles - am planning a flight to SD.

po, Jul 25 2004

       South Dakota? ;?

If it's San Diego, let me know. Maybe we'll pop over there at the same time. If it's San Dimas, forget it.

half, Jul 25 2004

San Diego works for me, although I'd love to visit Pericles in Mexico as well.

Seriously, I understand there have been UK meetings of the secret society, but it is about time we held one over here. I selfishly vote for the Left Coast.

I have a feeling all those mattressi are going to eat up our limited expense account. Beaches are a little sandier, but work in a similar manner.

normzone, Jul 25 2004

po, would you please give me a ride on your scooter? Please? Will there be an open space for that?

Ichthus, Jul 26 2004

       ich! ah, gotcha!

South Dakota by scooter here I come...

po, Jul 26 2004

       Wooooohooooo! This thing is fast!

Ichthus, Jul 26 2004

Stop that you maniacs! This is the halfbakery, not a race-track.

spacemoggy, Jul 26 2004

It's sad. There have been a couple ideas like this one but people never think about it seriously. No no no, don't get me wrong. I'm aware that we all work and live quite far away from each other (at least that's my case) but I would really like to meet some of the bakers. If only we had agreed on ONE secret handshake... I might at least know I have the chance to bump into someone during my overseas travels.

Pericles, Jul 27 2004

[pericles] I had just become aquainted with your presence in the halfbakery and here you are adding this very pleasant annotation to my idea. How do you do?

Yes, I would like to meet bakers too.

jscottpete, Jul 27 2004

Perhaps I jinxed myself by making commentary on the until then bone free status of this idea catagory (halfbakery:meeting).

jscottpete, Jul 27 2004

Hello [jscottpete]. I'm not doing so good (I posted an idea yesterday, for the first time in ages, and it was deleted) but thanks for asking. Funny: I hadn't noticed your presence either so, ¡hola!.

Pericles, Jul 28 2004

       It "got deleted?" Um, how?

bristolz, Jul 28 2004

outaged might be a better explanation...

po, Jul 28 2004

It was advocacy, [DrCurry]said. I'll look up that "advocacy" word as soon as I can so I know why my idea was deleted. Too bad :(

Pericles, Jul 28 2004

       But YOU deleted it, right?

bristolz, Jul 28 2004

       no, I didn't. It just vanished :(

Pericles, Jul 28 2004

Along with others. The HB lost power and threw a hissy fit. (See <meta>-<news>.)

angel, Jul 28 2004

Ah. Okay. I didn't know that. Thank you, angel.

Pericles, save for a database problem like this, nothing will ever be "just deleted" w/o an mfd process or unless it is super offensive. In the latter case, though, likely the poster's account will go with it.

bristolz, Jul 28 2004

Oh, I see. Mine wasn't offensive. Should I post it again?

Pericles, Jul 28 2004

Guys are dumb enough just standing, I'd hate trying to have an intelligent conversation with one laying down.

"Is that a body pillow or are you just glad to meet me?"

k_sra, Jul 28 2004

Pericles: If you think it was a worthwhile invention idea post, sure, repost.

bristolz, Jul 28 2004

       Are you hitting on us?

Worldgineer, Jul 28 2004

       you, world...YOU!

       <hides behind world>

       his moustache is so sleezy...

po, Jul 28 2004

Too bad, it covers his nearly perfect teeth.

Worldgineer, Jul 28 2004

<wonders exactly what “unintelligible accent” really means.>

bristolz, Jul 28 2004

It probably means she is still in grade 3

tasman, Jul 28 2004

I was just asking. Nice hair, by the way.

Worldgineer, Jul 28 2004

Did you mean an unplaceable accent?

bristolz, Jul 28 2004

       Where are you from? [bwv61]

PinkDrink, Jul 28 2004

[bwv] is loopy. But I don't care... I'm mesmerised by those perfect teeth.

spacemoggy, Jul 29 2004

Would you all shut up! I'm trying to sleep...

       Damn, this warehouse is drafty.

k_sra, Jul 29 2004

       (throws plush half-croissant as [k])

Worldgineer, Jul 29 2004

Hey, careful! Those are rare and valuable!

half, Jul 29 2004

(hits [half] with full body pillow)

Worldgineer, Jul 29 2004

<sigh> I just knew this would degenerate.

egbert, Jul 29 2004

Move over please, my heads getting wet from that burst pipe up there.

skinflaps, Jul 29 2004

So Leonard opens your mail and has gone missing?

bristolz, Jul 29 2004

       Just don't fall asleep, [World]. <evil grin>

k_sra, Jul 29 2004

I'm going on a Stag Party in Lisbon in September. Will be found on Golf Courses by day, Bars by afternoon and Restaurants by night.

gnomethang, Jul 29 2004

don't foget your rutting bobbers - oops, boppers!

po, Jul 29 2004

We have a houseguest staying with us from Brazil this week. I'll have to listen more closely to her accent even though her Portuguese and the real Portugal varieties sound different, at least to me.

bristolz, Jul 29 2004

[bwv61], I'm in the UK and play golf in Portugal every November (in Vilamoura) so although it is my first venture to Lisboa I have been to your lovely country before. One of our number lived there for a number of years and is pretty well fluent but I agree about the language - more like 'Channel 9' from the 'Fast Show'. I can do French and a (small!) amount of German and Spanish but I never get time enough to learn Portuguese.
BTW the Golf Courses in Portugal are pretty damned good as far as I am concerned - we keep going back there!.

gnomethang, Jul 29 2004

Gnome: so you go to Portugal and you waste your time playing GOLF while you could be finding some gorgeous woman, like our [bwv61]??? Mal, muy mal.

Talking of [bwv61], being that you are so cute, do you happen to have a brother? I need a boyfriend with good teeth.

Pericles, Jul 29 2004

Real Portuguese being the language I have heard spoken in Portugal. Mostly in and around Lisbon and the coast northward. I don't know what else to call it.

bristolz, Jul 29 2004

well, I'm sure someone here will be interested in twins ;)

Pericles, Jul 29 2004

How the hell do you guys keep up with these threads? Do certain ideas encourage repeated visits or is there some secret to knowing when there is some annotation to be responded to?

[bwv61] Do you have a cute sister with good teeth?

No that isn't a body pillow. I'm just really happy to see you!

[pericles] Out of curiousity, what idea was accidently deleted?

jscottpete, Jul 31 2004

Do you use the "recent" view? It helps you see activity on an idea.

half, Jul 31 2004

I'm just going to bust out and post my e-mail here: jscottpete@yahoo.com. Perhaps I should get more original with screen names. I was thinking of "perverted-humanitarian."

Does anyone have a serious answer to the question in my previous post.

[Pericles] Glad I asked how your were doing. You might have never known what happened to your idea.

jscottpete, Aug 04 2004

jsp - suggest you put your e address on your profile page (with a few appropriate spaces to minimise s p a m )

po, Aug 04 2004

I wasn't aware that I was joking when I attempted to address your previous query, [jscottpete].

half, Aug 04 2004

This idea gave me a nightmare. I think it was a sort of hybrid of the Halfbakery and some sort of yiffy FurryMuck. There were beds. yahhhhhhg!

bungston, Aug 04 2004

I would have thought that a sleepover for B/2ers would be more like a "creepover".

UnaBubba, Aug 05 2004

[half] I was pretty groggy and completely missed your annotation and when I used the word "serious" I didn't mean it that way.

[bungston] Nightmares? You need to be able to wake up next to a bunch of halfbakers that can talk you down.

jscottpete, Aug 05 2004

How about hammock-inn? Hammocks tied into the poles and rafters of the warehouse. I would bring my hennessyhammock to sleep or lie-in. I live in New Zealand so how about some Hawaii beach and palm trees for hammocks?
