High Rise Rain

"Hot enough fer ya?"

Memories of hot, dry, interminable summer days linger in my mind. Days when walking down the street, breathing the stifling blast furnace air of early afternoon was so uncomfortable as to wilt the spirit. Add to that the heat load of vehicles and air conditioners, the aerodynamic obstruction of high rise buildings and it adds up to the conditions that spawn murder/suicides.

Picture pipes pinned to parapets, poised to pepper pedestrians and pavements with wondrous water. See streetscapes sprayed silently with a fine, fabulous fog of cooling mist spreading spectral visions into the arid air. Imagine every glittering globule of the glistening golden glissade, softly soaking sunbaked streets in slow motion. Feel the rain, lasciviously laving languid limbs, banishing the brutal breath of a stifling summer sojourn... spirits soar.

       Nice alliteration.

I'd like it but humans still cuss the rain even if it cools them down. +

Just like the link, only bigger, longer and err... bigger.

this is just a bigger version of an existing system then? the linked products are supposed to produce mist for a cooling effect. when functioning improperly or in high humidity they make rain and add to the misery with higher humidity.

       nicely written.

High humidity would not be good. But I could see this being great in dry climates. The water would be expensive if you did this on a large scale though, and the places that have a dry climate probably have the least water. The water would have to be clean, to avoid spreading disease, so it would probably have to be drinking water quality. Still, I guess if they have done it for centuries in the middle east small areas of densely populated cities should be doable. So I give it a +
