For many people living the unmarried life, (And even a few living the married life...) there are certain times when you wish the voice of another person in your home could interject into a phone conversation.

When a guy's friends call to see how his drunken escapades of the night before ended... When a young lady wants to give the creepy stalker food for thought... When a jilted (or jilting) former partner calls to see if you're still alone... When a nightmare blind date calls to schedule a rematch... and in many other situations I haven't thought of at the moment, the best possible event would be for the person at the other end of the line to hear a significant shifting of bedsheets followed by an appropriately modulated voice asking who might be calling.

The "Honey, who is that?" line of voice clips, now available for immediate download at www.fakewebsite.com can handle all these needs and so much more. Different voice actors, provide similar inquiries, ranging in level of interest, gender, apparent muscularity, and mood, but all provide the vital sound, of a concerned significant other asking you who could be calling at this hour.

I've heard of women who live alone having a man's voice on their answering machine OGM; also barking dogs in the background.

It's a running joke amongst some of my friends to yell 'come back to bed!' when someone answers their 'phone, especially if we suspect the caller to be the partner.

I like the doorbell idea too. Although I suppose that as MP3 clips, the generalized "who is it honey" could easily be modified for that, and other purposes.

I maintain that Ventriloquisim is the work of the devil... Or is it that the Devil is a ventriloquist. OK, OK, it's just that it's the devil to get ventriloquism to work right...
