Two transparent stretchy outer domes of an optically refractive substance fixed back to back, filled with varying amounts of air. | |
To dynamically change the shape of an aspherical lens element, pump more air into it.
If the back to back domes with minimal amount of filling form a narrower lens, pumping air into the gap between them forces them apart, causing the effect of a fatter meniscus, and faking the effect of a variable
shape lens element.
