Okay heres my idea, how about selling ads for insurance right where and when you need them. Not that insurance companies need to make more money, but heres a few ideas:
Hurricane Insurace:
Ads on the weater channels maps
Flood insurance:
Ads on the levys
House Insurance:
Ads on fire trucks
Ads
on fire extigishers
Car insurance:
AAA bumperstickers, oh wait already done
Ads inside gloveboxes
Health insurance:
Ads in doctors offices
Ads in ERs
Ads on the back of ambulances
Extended care insurance
Ads in nursing homes
Life insurance:
Ads on the sides of bridges (REALLY profitable, no payout)
Ads in funeral homes
Ads placed on extra tombstones in grave yards
Now this idea may seem kinda simple but it has multiple positives. Take the ER example
1. It gets extreme name association, every time you think ER, you think X
2. People who are always in the ER are very ticked that you would be that inconsiderate to them specifically, and therefore do not purchase your insurance,(more for fixed rate systems) less payout.
3. People who are in the ER rarely, are then continually bombarded with more ads, causing them to want to leave more quickly, less payout again.
Now, as this would of course catch on and every major insurance company start a similar campain, there would then be a market for insurance that doesn't advertise so inconsiderately, Enter your dummy corp, a wholy owned subsiderary, properly shield from prying governments. Now your standard, far less than moral, tactics seem good by comparison and people once again forget how absurdly profitable insurance actually is.
hmm, just a though, sorry about the lack of custurd or cheese, hmmm maybe under health insurance/
How about on police cars?

<Pink Slip for geoffct>Instant approval, huh. Profits out the window, huh. You're fired.</Pink Slip for geoffct> |

Reminded me of the company in the US trying to run ads on police cars, by offering the cars virtually free to police departments. See link. |

Wouldn't necessarily result in instant claims, providing you picked you venue and were careful to explain that prior incidents were ineligible for coverage. |
|
| |
You'd want to pick venues where people have a heightened sense of fear, but not necessarily a higher risk profile. E.g. at the base of the twin towers, in a casualty department, on the side of a fire engine or ambulance. |

The local telly shows a government ad where an insurance saleswoman is trying to flog life insurance to a soldier in the middle of a live-fire drill. It was given as an example of unethical behaviour. |

You'll need to be very careful how the ads are portrayed... |
