Intelligent Automatic Flush

1 Stop, 1 Flush

So, we've all seen automatic toilets, and conceptually, they're a great idea. Not having to touch anything in the bathroom is nice. However, we've all also had them flush many times while we're moving around in the cubicle.

I think I have a solution. Rather than using a motion or presence sensor, why not tie them into the door lock on the cube. Go in, lock the door, do your business, and when your ready to leave unlock the door, which triggers the flush.

No wasted water, no extra contact, guaranteed flush.

You're going to wash your hands anyway (I hope), so what's the problem with a manual flush?

More relevant to have automatic doors, I'd have thought.

Well, the automatic flush also insures that a flush happens, which is a very important step. [edited to include that advantage in the idea]

The primary purpose of this is to fix a wasteful problem with current automatic flush systems.

//unlock the door, which triggers the flush// at which point the people waiting outside come bursting in to be met with your inanely bobbing sleeping otter which refuses to be dismissed by one puny flush.

With what do you stick it?

Reminds me of the old joke,

       What’s brown and sticky?

       A stick.

       Where's brown in a rainbow?

I know I'm not usually the 'baker with the totally serious factual answer, but I know this one: It's hiding in the orangy-red bit, believe it or not. It's a very dim area of the photo spectrum.
