Though similar to an ordinary jigsaw puzzle, the audio puzzle's image is nondescript, such as a Pollock painting, and the interlocking outline of each piece need not be unique.

Using related technology as found in musical greeting cards, each inside edge of the 1-inch square, puzzle pieces emits a different tone when pinched. This tone matches the tone of the correct, neighboring piece's edge, in addition to a match of their physical edges.

While or after completing the puzzle, one can press the centers of the pieces, left to right, to "play" a popular melody; possibly unknown at the time of purchase. Even its lyrics' syllables could be printed on the pieces.

40 pieces with 'It's Raining, It's Pouring' to 500 with 'Hotel California'.

I saw a toy something like this once at one of those 'Teaching Toy' type of stores. Five pieces of different colors, five places to put 'em, and four directions to put them in on the base, or something like that. Each piece played a few tones out of one of Beethoven's more popular tunes.
