I think if the machine can't make the change, it should give us the drinks for free. |
|
| |
How about a "best possible change" button? For instance (In American coins), the machine owes you 30 cents, but the 5 cent hopper is empty -- You would get 25 cents back, instead of the machine keeping everything. |
|
| |
If it doesnt have nickels (5¢) it should give you a dime (10¢) instead. Otherwise crooked owners would forget to load it with nickels in order to get more money. |
|
| |
Actually, as children we hear: "The machine ATE my money!!" |
|
| |
All the vending machines in my place of employ currently do both what this idea suggests and what JRandMoby added. |
|
| |
You stick the dollar in the bill acceptor, and punch in your selection. If the machine doesn't have correct change, it refuses with a "correct change only" light (and in the case of newer machines, a LED readout). If you punch in your choice again before hitting the "change" button, your choice is dispensed. You receive whatever change the machine can make, but it never overpays you. |

Baked, but possibly not know to widely exist, so it may not qualify for [m-f-d] status. |
|
| |
I have never seen a vending machine that refused to give the product due to lack of change... |
|
| |
Even the advanced "french fry" machines in Japan will happily keep the change if you fail to notice that the "no change" light is ON. |
|
| |
why not have a large charity icon ( eg. a plastic labrador ) flash to indicate that you have the option to give the change to charity. either that , or you collect tokens for a large plastic labrodor. |

[fishy]: I had that idea here a few months back. I'll try to find the link. |
